ORATORICAL CONTEST

“The Power of Resiliency”

CONTEST INFORMATION:

• Open to all Middle and High Schools students
• All participating schools must register 1- primary and 1- alternate representative
• All representatives will deliver an oral speech on the theme “The Power of Resiliency”
• The time limit for speech: 3 minutes minimum / 5 minutes maximum
• All speeches shall be delivered in ENGLISH
• Props may be used throughout the duration of the speech (posters, charts, displays, etc.)
• The use of electronic equipment is not permitted (laptops, multimedia, projectors, etc.)
• A typed copy of the speech to be orated, shall be written personally by the representative and the alternate. Your submission must accompany the registration form, photo of representative/s, and media consent form by the deadline of 5:00 p.m., March 29, 2023

THE PRIZE:     Trophy/Plaque for each category’s winner and runner-up.

The High School Winner will become the Youth Governor on Island Leadership Day and the MiddleSchool Winner will become the Youth Lt. Governor.

All other participants will serve in leadership roles within the Government of Guam during Island Leadership Day scheduled for April 27, 2023.
