Research Proposal Submission

To submit a research proposal for review and approval by the GDOE Research Review Panel, click this link Research Request Form (GDOE RP&E) and follow the procedures below.
When uploading your proposal, kindly include the following:
- Full Name and e-mail address of the researcher
- Title of the proposal and home university of the researcher
- IRB approval or Letter of IRB Exemption
- No IRB Approval or Letter of IRB Exemption, No GDOE approval.
- If the proposal is a capstone project, kindly submit an IRB Exemption letter from your University
- CITI certification, even if the researcher was granted IRB Exemption
- NO CITI certification, no GDOE approval
- Comprehensive discussion of the following:
- Statement of Purpose of the research
- Significance to DOE i.e. alignment with the State Strategic Plan goals (I Chalan Ta Mona) if the applicant is a DOE employee
- Methodology (data collection plan and analysis, target participants and school(s) involved)
- Parental Permission and statement of Adherence to the PPRA. If minors are involved
- Assent Form, if a student participating is 18 and above
- Data collection instruments

The GDOE approval process takes about 15 calendar days upon uploading your research approval request in the DOE Google form using the link.

Important Reminder:
- All researchers must obtain the school principal’s approval to conduct data collection at their site — even if the proposal has been approved by RPE and concurred by the Deputy ESCL.
- The school principal is the final decision-maker regarding whether and when data collection may occur, as they are responsible for ensuring that research activities do not disrupt student learning.
